
Known as the best tower in Asia, the Nam San Tower or Seoul Tower offers fantastic views of Seoul . Built in 1969, located at the peak of Mt. Namsan, this 236.7 meter (777 feet) attraction was originally built as a communications tower for radio signals and broadcasting television. It was then opened to the public in October 15, 1980 as a major tourist attraction. When the tower's original owner merged with CJ Group, the Seoul Tower was remodeled on December 9, 2005, with its name changed to N Seoul Tower. The letter "N" meaning new, CJ Group spent a total of 15 billion won for the grand construction and remodeling of the N Seoul Tower.
Now, the tower transforms into different majestic colors and appearance in every special occasion or event in Korea with the construction of its new lighting system.
For visitors who are interested to visit the N Seoul Tower, one can reach the base by riding the Mt. Namsan cable car, by car, or even by hiking. There is a gift shop and restaurants at the ground floor. Exhibition halls can also be seen within the complex. There is also a Media Zone and Experience Hall at the lobby for exhibitions and performances. Visitors must pay a minimal fee to be able to go up the tower. There are four observation decks, with a revolving restaurant located at the 4th deck. The N Grill is a western-style restaurant that revolves 360 degrees every 48 minutes. There are also other restaurants and gift shops at the different observation decks. Its Sky Restroom is also claimed to be one-of-a-kind as it offers the finest view in the city that only the tower's special restroom can offer. From the observation tower, tourists can definitely get a panoramic view of this lively city.
